DAY BY DAY
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a professional guide from Uganda Family Tours. After a short briefing about your safari, begin your scenic drive southwest through Rwanda's beautiful countryside towards Nyungwe Forest National Park.
The journey offers spectacular views of Rwanda's famous rolling hills, tea plantations, traditional villages, and lush landscapes. Along the way, you may stop for photography and refreshments.
Upon arrival at Nyungwe Forest, check in to your lodge and relax while enjoying the peaceful surroundings of the rainforest. In the evening, enjoy dinner and receive a detailed briefing about the following day's chimpanzee trekking adventure.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking Experience in Nyungwe Forest
Wake up early for breakfast, then transfer to the park headquarters for registration and a briefing by park rangers.
After the briefing, enter the forest with experienced guides and trackers in search of one of the habituated chimpanzee communities. The trek may take several hours, depending on the chimpanzees' movements, but the experience is highly rewarding.
Once the chimpanzees are located, spend one magical hour observing their daily activities. Watch them feed, groom one another, communicate through calls, and swing effortlessly through the trees.
After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
In the afternoon, you may choose to participate in optional activities such as the Nyungwe Canopy Walk, guided nature walks, birdwatching, or primate viewing excursions.
Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Return to Kigali and Departure
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before checking out of the lodge.
Begin your return journey to Kigali while enjoying the scenic landscapes along the way. Upon arrival in Kigali, depending on your departure schedule, you may enjoy a short city tour, visit local craft markets, or explore the Kigali Genocide Memorial.
Later, your guide will transfer you to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of your memorable Rwanda chimpanzee trekking safari.
