DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY BY DAY

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide from Uganda Family Tours. After a short briefing about your safari, begin your scenic journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda.

The drive offers stunning views of rolling hills, rural villages, lush farmlands, and the beautiful landscapes that have earned Uganda the title "Pearl of Africa." Along the way, enjoy several stopovers for photography, refreshments, and sightseeing.

Arrive at your lodge in the evening, check in, and relax as you prepare for the exciting gorilla trekking adventure ahead.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You will be assigned a gorilla family and receive important guidelines before entering the forest.

Accompanied by experienced ranger guides, venture into the dense rainforest in search of one of Bwindi's habituated mountain gorilla families. The trek can take anywhere from a few hours to most of the day depending on the gorillas' movements.

Once located, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing these magnificent primates in their natural habitat. Watch them feed, groom, play, and interact as you capture incredible photographs and memories.

This rare wildlife encounter is often described as one of the most remarkable experiences in Africa.

After the trek, return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Enjoy breakfast before departing Bwindi for Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most diverse and scenic wildlife destinations.

The journey takes you through beautiful landscapes featuring rolling hills, traditional communities, and stunning views of the western rift valley. Upon arrival in the park, enjoy an afternoon game drive through the Kasenyi Plains.

Keep your eyes open for elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, warthogs, waterbucks, and predators such as lions and leopards that roam the savannah grasslands.

After the game drive, proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise and Afternoon Game Drive

Following breakfast, head to the Kazinga Channel for one of the most rewarding wildlife boat cruises in East Africa.

The channel connects Lake Edward and Lake George and attracts large concentrations of wildlife throughout the year. During the cruise, expect close-up sightings of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and a variety of bird species gathering along the shores.

After lunch, embark on another game drive through different sectors of the park in search of additional wildlife species. The afternoon provides excellent opportunities to spot lions, hyenas, antelopes, and other animals as they become more active.

Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Morning Game Drive and Return to Entebbe

Begin your final day with an early morning game drive, the best time to spot predators and other wildlife before the heat of the day. This is another opportunity to search for any animals you may have missed during previous game drives, including the elusive leopard.

After the game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast before beginning the journey back to Entebbe.

Arrive in Entebbe later in the day and transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight, marking the end of an unforgettable Uganda wildlife and gorilla trekking safari.
